THE STORY BEHIND HAYDAY
It all began with brothers (and self-confessed grass enthusiasts) Tom and Mike!
The family have been growing a range of crops on the farm in Yorkshire for many years. But their love of grass was all-too strong. They wanted to know everything there is to know about this amazing crop. Ten years later and what began as a side hustle on the farm became one of the things we do best. These days, we’re leading experts of hay and haylage in the UK — supplying premium products to equestrian owners, sports professionals and businesses in the UK and around the world.
Tom + Mike didn’t want small pets to miss out on our totally delicious hay, so they tweaked our grass mixes to suit the nutritional and feed requirements for small pets — small pet customers started enjoying our products in 2018 and in 2022 HayDay was born.
Because for small pets, every day is a hayday!

True to our roots
All our hay is grown with love in Yorkshire. Hay is what we do best — from planting the seeds to packing our boxes, we manage the whole process ourselves. We can guarantee a high quality and consistent product every time. We also work closely with our in house nutritionist to help your small pet stay healthy and happy, for life.
All Natural
Our grass is 100% natural: grown and harvested using sustainable farming practices such as using green energy to power our barn drying process, we pride ourselves on doing things the right way. So much so that this was a priority when creating these products, from the packaging to the leaflets you get with your order…we only use the most suitable environmentally friendly products. No plastic here please!

You'll most likely find Tom (and his Jack Russell Ralph!) on the farm planning our crop production and perfecting the next best grass mixes. He is our 'go to' expert on all things hay. He can also be found looking after our sheep.
Mike
Head of BTS
Mike looks after the process of getting the hay in our barn to delivered boxes to your pet. When not in the office Mike has most likely disappeared to admire his latest wildbird cover, plan a new hedgerow or monitor the beehives.
Briony
Nutrition
Briony is our in house expert on all things small pet nutrition. Briony has years of experience in animal nutrition from guinea fowl to guinea pigs and provides us with expert advice on creating the best products for happy, healthy small pets.
